A New Era has Begun in Gibraltar- Watson

Gibraltar Liberal Democrat MEP and President of the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party Sir Graham Watson has congratulated the Gibraltar Socialist Labour/Liberal coalition for their win in yesterday’s parliamentary elections. The alliance won 10 on the Parliament’s 17 seats with 48.88% of the vote, with an exceptionally high turnout of 81.4%.

Following the result, Watson commented, ‘After 15 years, it is high time for change and I am excited by the prospect of Gibraltar's Liberals playing a key part in government. The campaign has been very positive and focused on the issues that matter to citizens: business, tax, the economy and relations with Spain. Now it is time to press on with the task in hand. A new era has begun.’
