Chris, Anil Ahir (Production Director) and Claire from Tamar Foods look on as Graham tries his hand at crimping a Cornish pasty.

The Managing Director of Tamar Foods Wayne Day has today (1 April) given Graham Watson MEP a tour of the company's factory in Callington.

The Euro-MP has been working closely with Tamar Foods and the Cornish Pasty Association to garner support for European protection of the Cornish delicacy.

Last month, Tamar Foods gave Watson a box of authentic Cornish Pasties to take to Brussels to share with his colleagues from around Europe. On his visit to the company today the MEP was impressed.

"Tamar Foods employs 620 people in Callington. Hundreds more jobs around the Duchy are also dependent on maintaining high standards in Cornish Pasty production.

"European protection will mean a lot to Cornwall, and although the battle continues, I am optimistic we can secure the deal that Cornwall wants."
