Graham Watson - Liberal Democrat MEP for South-West England and Gibraltar

MEP welcomes Airbus A350 agreement

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 6th Oct 2005

Welcoming today's announcement of the go ahead for the new Airbus A350 passenger aircraft, South West MEP Graham Watson said,

"This is good news for Bristol and also for Britain. It shows the power of working together with our European neighbours. The A350 will be bigger, faster, more fuel efficient and further flying than its competitors. Airbus is already outselling Boeing on world markets and this will further strengthen Europe's position."

Note to Editors:

Mr Watson will today welcome EU Research and Development Commissioner Janez Potocnik to the South West and accompany him on a tour of Airbus UK.
