Graham Watson MEP together with other SW MEPs celebrates London's win

Reacting to the news that the International Olympic Committee has decided on London to host the 2012 Olympic Games, South West Liberal Democrat MEP Graham Watson said:

"Politicians traditionally thrive on opposition and exposing differences of view. For once we are all of one mind in supporting the UK bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games."

"As a UK MEP I am very proud that Britain has been given this honour. Although London will be hosting the Games I will be urging the Government to use the opportunity to hold events in the South West and showcase its many attractions."
